TFSP: Valentine’s Day Spa Package Giveaway for MilSpouses!

I have to admit..I’ve been a pretty bad blogger in terms of reading up on blogs and writing blog posts. I saw a picture that caught my eye when I was reading Kara’s blog. It was a spouse box filled with goodies for $29.95 a month. I looked at some of the links AND I found my new obsession. Udderly Natural Handcrafted body products. As in everything I’ve wanted in a spa package. AND there are a ton of different flavors and scents to choose from.

Here are the following items included in this giveaway..
5oz sugar scrub
2oz bath bomb
2oz goat milk lotion
1 goat milk soap bar
1 lip balm

The winner of this giveaway will have the chance to choose any flavors and scents of all the items listed above. Not a bad way to pamper yourself if I do say so myself.

To enter the giveaway..
– You must be a military spouse at some point (veteran/wounded warrior spouses count)
– Write a active blog (2 blog posts per month)
– Live in the U.S. (giveaways only ship in the U.S.)
– Enter through this link,here

The winner will be contacted through email and through my social media accounts. Winner will have three days to respond to my email from the day the email was sent or another winner will be chosen. I hope you ladies enjoy! 🙂

And for those that are curious, I’m hosting this giveaway early because I want the winner to be able to use the items by Valentine’s Day. Sometimes things take a while. Have a good one 🙂

Fail Sweetly,

Military Spouse Appreciation Day Giveaway

Well it’s no secret I’m pretty involved when it comes to giving to others in the military or military family members. I was contacted by Kelly of Hiccups and Sunshine about this giveaway hop and thought it was a fabulous idea. What an awesome way to give back to milspouses! 🙂 For those of you who know me well, I’m an appliance junkie. I made a rule for myself when I started Project Give that I wouldn’t give away anything that I wouldn’t want and use myself. So because I love and own this mixer, I am giving away a Cuisinart 5 speed hand mixer. I have a white one that the big bro got me.

If I were to buy a hand mixer, this is the one I would buy. It’s super nice and works easily. I’ve made cookies, brownies, cakes, muffins, and etc. with the mixer. It comes in an assortment of colors but you can pick the color you want! 🙂 This giveaway will start on May 9th and last through May 23th. Good luck ladies! 🙂

– must be an active blogger (at least 2 post per month which means you must have a blog)
– must be a U.S. resident as this giveaway only ships within the U.S.

The winner will be announced via my blog on May 25th, Sunday at 8pm. Don’t forget to hop on over to Kelly’s blog and check out all the other bloggers participating in this giveaway! 🙂

Project Give: March Giveaway!!

Hi all! It’s time for another giveaway with Project Give: For Military Spouses. This month’s giveaway is sponsored by the wonderful Katie of Going Coastal With The Plumes and has a spring theme to it. Thanks so much Katie! You’re awesome 🙂

Here’s a guest post from Katie..
I’m Katie and I blog over at Going Coastal with the Plumes. When I found out about Justina and her monthly giveaways to military spouses I was sort of in awe. She isn’t even a military spouse herself, yet every month she got a little box together to send to one special military spouse – I just can’t get over how sweet that is! When she mentioned in January that she wouldn’t be able to do quite as many this year – I totally jumped at the opportunity to help her out!

It’s March. {What?} And that means it’s ALMOST spring. Ah – yay! I love spring. Actually, I love summer, but to get to summer, you have to go through spring. This month we will set our clocks forward, which I know some people grumble about because they lose an hour of sleep, but it’s my favorite. I love when it doesn’t get dark at 5:30 anymore. I mean, I LOVE it.

So I went to my favorite store {IKEA} and got some fun springtime goodies for one lucky military spouse!

• 1 bright yellow table runner – sure to brighten ANYONE’S day 🙂
• 3 tropical smelling candles {they literally smell like paradise}
• 2 potpourri packages {one green and one white for spring!}

Project Give: Christmas Special

Hi all! Hope everyone had an excellent Thanksgiving full of happiness, family, friends, love, and of course food. I stuffed myself with turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cheesecake.

I’ve finalized my Christmas special for Project Give this year. I’m posting a few days before the giveaway begins to let military spouses know what’s in which giveaway. I tried my best to shop for the appropriate age group. And I also tried to have something for both genders and items that were gender neutral (if that even makes any sense). Everything in these giveaways are funded by me unless otherwise stated.

December Giveaway: Cuisinart Waffle Maker (it’s been featured on my blog during my waffle making frenzies)

Christmas Special:
Toddlers: coloring book, crayons, twin pack elmo books, sticker book, Christmas snowflake glasses, fish card game, & Christmas m&ms in a candy cane shaped plastic container
Young children: washable finger paint, play doh, mini fishing game, crazy 8 card game, Christmas tree glasses, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 1 dvd, & Christmas m&ms in a candy cane shaped plastic container
Preteens: nail polish (blue, red, glitter pink), Pillsbury funfetti cookie mix, Pillsbury funfetti frosting, The Karate Kid dvd (Jaden Smith/Jackie Chan version), Despicable Me dvd, mini red and silver Christmas ornaments, & Christmas m&ms in a candy cane shaped plastic container
Teens: ho ho ho! mini pillow, Marley & Me dvd, poker game cards, mini blue and silver Christmas ornaments, red and silver snowflake ornaments, Pillsbury funfetti brownie mix, & Christmas m&ms in a candy cane shaped plastic container

I will be posting several Rafflecopter links December 1st to kick off the Christmas special! 🙂 Stay tuned for more updates. Have fun shopping today! Or staying in and drinking hot chocolate/coffee like my sister did! 🙂

Fail Sweetly,

Project Give: October Giveaway

Welcome to the second giveaway of Project Give! It’s October! Which means, a Halloween themed giveaway. I’m not really sure why I decided to have a Halloween themed giveaway because I usually don’t do anything but eat caramel apples. I’ve never carved a pumpkin before. And I’ve never been trick-or-treating. Did I grow up in a bubble? Probably. I thank my parents for that every year by reminding them they robbed me of my childhood. ANYWAY, I’d like to tell you a story about a very special young man that deserves every bit of praise and then some.

One of the organizations that I follow is Operation Homefront and they do a lot to help lower enlisted military personnel, veterans, and their families. Every year they have an award called the Military Child Of The Year award. It’s awarded to one military brat in each branch of service. I was reading the profiles for the winners last year and the Navy recipient caught my eye. He was 9 years old when he won the award (I think he’s 10 now). They call him Nate The Great. When you’ve heard about what he’s done in those short 9 years, you’ll understand why they call him that. Nate’s father is in the Navy and he has three older brothers who are also in the military. I believe two joined the Navy following in their father’s footsteps while one became a marine. He’s the second youngest of six children. What I thought was crazy was the fact that three of his brothers and his father were all deployed at one point. He probably has more volunteer hours under his belt than I do. He devotes his time to leading the anti-bully committee at his school and volunteers at the USO in San Diego. He also writes a blog. Yes, you read correctly. At the age of 9, he has a blog. His stories are awesome too! Nate, if you’re reading this than just keep doing what you’re doing. You’re such an inspiration.

When I thought up this project I was focused on helping military spouses because my friend’s a military spouse. Than I thought to myself, what about military kids? I can help military spouses by helping military kids. I’ve heard many stories about mom or dad (in some cases both) missing holidays and special occasions that it breaks my heart. Part of what Nate does with the USO is help military spouses by helping other military kids who have their mom or dad deployed. I brainstormed and decided that my love for Halloween came from caramel apples. Inspired by this 10 year old young man, I only saw it fitting to share the apples this year. So to all the military spouses who have kids (or husbands with a sweet tooth/you have a sweet tooth), celebrate Halloween this year with FOUR delicious caramel apples (2 of your choice) from Sinfully Sweet Apple Company. You do not need to have kids to enter in the giveaway. I’m not here to judge 😛 All giveaways are funded by me, unless otherwise stated.

I’ve become quite the caramel apple snob over the years. As a caramel apple snob, I don’t take to the ones they sell at The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory or the grocery stores. The apple has to be tart and crunchy. The caramel has to be gooey and delicious and not disgustingly gloopy that it sticks to your teeth. The best caramel apples I’ve had were bought from a hidden gem in La Verne, California. Sinfully Sweet Apple Company! They’ve dedicated most of their store to caramel apples. Their apples are huge! I usually share one with someone. They’ve also been featured on The Food Network show Kid in a Candy Store.

2 Halloween apples
– Jack Skellington (The Nightmare Before Christmas): caramel apple dipped in white chocolate with a face drawn
– Minion (Despicable Me): caramel apple dipped in yellow colored white chocolate with spiked hair made with shaved chocolate and a face drawn

2 apples of your choice (pick two please!)
– White Chocolate Raspberry: caramel apple covered in white raspberry flavored chocolate, rolled in crushed Oreo cookies and drizzled with red color ganache. Also garnished with a raspberry gummy
– Snickers: caramel apple covered in milk chocolate, rolled in crushed peanuts and drizzle with more milk chocolate. Garnished with sliced Snickers
– Red Peanut (one of my faves!): apple covered in red caramel (it’s a little sweeter than regular caramel) and rolled in crushed peanuts (you usually find these at the grocery store)
– Apple Pie: caramel apple covered in white chocolate, rolled in cinnamon sugar, drizzle with more white chocolate, and garnished with a rose candy
– Red Caramel OR Regular Caramel: apple covered in red caramel or regular brown caramel

To enter the giveaway, you must…
– Be a military spouse
– Have a blog
– Enter through rafflecopter (only rafflecopter entries will be accepted)
– Live in the U.S. (this giveaway only ships in the U.S.)
– Only enter this giveaway once

The winner will be announced on Sunday at 8pm via my blog. The winner will have two days to contact me with their shipping information and caramel apple choices. If I have not been contacted within two days, another winner will be chosen. Since the apples are perishable, they will be sent directly to your doorstep to ensure freshness.

Each giveaway will include a Cherish Every Moment bracelet and card to support The Dax Locke Foundation. Please consider making a donation and help Dax’s mom, Julie reach her goal of raising $1.6 million to run St. Jude’s hospital for one day in his honor.

Project Give will have a giveaway posted the first of every month. Good luck to everyone!

Fail Sweetly,

September Giveaway winner!! :)

Congratulations to comment #4 Chelsea Phelps for winning the September Giveaway of Project Give! 🙂 Please email me at failsweetly@gmail.com with your shipping information within the next two days. I don’t really use random.org but the site wouldn’t let me see the html for the generator. I’ll have to figure it out next month!

I was surfing Etsy for vintage jewelry a few weeks ago and came across some great stuff. Etsy’s kind of my new obsession. I found Imagin Blooms and loved all her creations. The necklaces I bought from her were gorgeous. I’ll be posting pictures soon! I plan on using one of the necklaces for Project Give but we’ll get into that later. Virginia makes some of the most beautiful jewelry I’ve found. She ships super quick and the packaging is adorable. I’m in love with the polka dot pouch she sent them in. At first I was a little anxious about the quality since I’ve never purchased anything from a Facebook page but the quality is definitely worth the price. My favorite color is purple and I purchased a purple and gold necklace that is absolutely stunning. I can’t wait to wear it! It’s so funny because when I first saw it, I automatically thought of the Los Angeles Lakers (they’re LA colors). Be sure to check out her Facebook page. She makes headbands, brooches, all sorts of neat things really.

I woke up at 3am this morning to volunteer with my company at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. I definitely have to thank my mom for making coffee ahead of time or else I would have dozed off. The experience itself was pretty neat and I plan on coming back for another 5k run/walk as part of my company. The Shoreline Village shops are amazing and the view was spectacular. Again, being the horrible photographer that I am…I forgot to bring my camera. I was sitting at the booth for my company when a woman approached me and asked me to take her picture. I’m a photographer so I’m like SURE! 🙂 Anyway, it was pretty funny because I asked one of her friends to move over since the shade from the tarps made him look weird. I got quizzical stares until my coworker told them I’m a photographer so I know about lighting. It was hilarious..I guess you had to be there. That’s all for now. Time to get back to that 9-5.
